Reverend Lawrence V. Exum founded Family Worship Center in February of 2000. Services were first conducted in the living room of a home in American Canyon owned by charter members of the church. Eventually, a building became available and the church moved to 11 Poco Way. Initially, the church leased just one unit of the business complex where services were held. As the church increased in numbers, additional units were added. Eventually, the church occupied a majority of the building for its services.
In recent months, the need for a new, larger building was pressing as most Sunday morning worship services were standing room only. A facility was found that provided more opportunity for growth. The church moved to the new building at 109 Klamath Court in 2009 and continues to hold services in the newly constructed sanctuary.
